Choosing the Right Mattress
Choosing the Right Mattress
If you want to get a good night's sleep then it is absolutely vital that you spend your time trying to find the perfect mattress. On this page I want to talk you through the various things that you are going to need to consider if you want to get the right mattress for your body type. Let's jump straight in shall we?
One of the first decisions that you are going to need to make when choosing a new mattress is the actual type of mattress that you are after. There are four different types of mattress for you to choose from. These include:
- Pocket Sprung Mattress: This is without a doubt the most popular type. With this type of mattress the springs are each given their own little pocket. The idea is that each of the springs moves independently from one another. This means that the mattress should be able to move around to your body type.
- Memory Foam Mattress are also pretty popular. They provide a very comfortable fit for some people but incredibly uncomfortable for others. I suggest that you look into a memory foam mattress if you suffer from back pain from time to time. In fact, any sort of chronic pain could potentially be relieved by a memory foam mattress. They are expensive though!
- Foam Mattresses are ideal for those that suffer from allergies as things do not tend to get 'stuck' in them e.g. dust mites.
- Open coil mattresses are the cheapest that you can get. This type of mattress involves coils which are wound together in a continuous loop. If your partner is significantly heavier then you then this is going to be a VERY uncomfortable type of mattress.
If you want to save a bit of money then you may want to look into the idea of mattress toppers. These can be placed right on top of the mattress. This means that you may be able to enjoy some of the benefits of a memory foam mattress for an incredibly cheap price! Although bear in mind that they are not going to be quite as comfortable.
Couple of points to remember here when you are choosing a mattress; firstly, you are going to want to only purchase one from a reputable brand. This is important as reputable brands often put out the best quality. Never opt for a cheap mattress. That will never end well. I also suggest that you try out a mattress before you purchase it. After all, there is nothing worse than having one delivered and then finding out that it is not comfortable at all!
Remember, once you have found the perfect mattress you are going to want to keep it in tip top condition. A mattress that is well looked after can last a good ten years providing you treat it right! Thankfully it is fairly easy to treat your mattress well. There are plenty of guides online that can help you with this.
